Transparent Background

The default output for background removal is a transparent background. Your subject sits on a checkerboard (or solid color in the editor) to indicate transparency. Export as PNG, WebP, or another format that supports alpha channels, and place your cutout anywhere — in a design tool, on a website, or in a new composite image.

Transparent output is available on all tiers, including Free.

Solid Color Backgrounds

Replace the background with a single solid color. QuickRemove includes a full color picker so you can choose any hue. Use it for passport photos (often white or blue), product listings (white is common for e-commerce), or brand-matched backgrounds. Solid color backgrounds are available on the Free tier.

Linear & Radial Gradients

Gradients create smooth transitions between two or more colors. Linear gradients flow in a direction (e.g., top to bottom, left to right); radial gradients emanate from a center point. You can customize colors, stop positions, angle (for linear), and center (for radial).

Gradients are ideal for modern, polished looks — soft sky gradients, subtle brand gradients, or dramatic fades. Available on Basic and Pro tiers.

Custom Image Backgrounds

Use your own image as the background. Drop in a photo, texture, or graphic, and QuickRemove composites your subject on top. The subject's mask ensures clean edges with no jagged borders. Custom image backgrounds are perfect for compositing people into scenes, placing products in lifestyle settings, or creating creative collages.

Supported input formats apply: PNG, JPG, WebP, BMP, GIF, TIFF, HEIC/HEIF. Custom image backgrounds are available on Basic and Pro tiers.
