QuickRemove doesn't just remove backgrounds — it adds professional polish. The effects suite lets you apply drop shadows, contact shadows, colored outlines, glossy reflections, motion echo, and color pop to your cutouts. Each effect is customizable, so you can match your brand, style, or creative vision.
Drop Shadows
Drop shadows add depth and realism by simulating light falling on your subject. QuickRemove's drop shadow effect lets you customize the angle, distance, blur (softness), and opacity. Angle controls the light direction — typically 45° or 135° for natural-looking shadows. Distance controls how far the shadow extends from the subject. Blur softens the shadow edge; higher blur creates a softer, more diffused look.
Drop shadows are ideal for product photos, marketing graphics, and social media content. They help subjects stand out from the background and feel grounded. Available on Basic and Pro tiers.
Contact Shadows
Contact shadows are tight, ground-hugging shadows that appear directly beneath the subject. Unlike drop shadows, they don't cast far — they simulate the shadow in direct contact with a surface. Contact shadows are perfect for e-commerce product photos where you want the item to look like it's sitting on a real surface.
Colored Outlines & Strokes
Add a colored outline or stroke around your subject. Choose any color via the color picker or eyedropper, set the stroke width, and optionally soften the edge. Outlines are great for logos, stickers, illustrations, and designs where you want a bold, graphic look. The stroke sits on the mask boundary, so it follows the subject contour precisely.

Glossy Reflections (Pro)
Pro tier includes glossy reflections — a mirror-like reflection beneath the subject, as if it were placed on a reflective surface. Common in product photography and luxury branding. You can adjust the reflection intensity, blur, and distance to match your composition.
Motion Echo (Pro)
Motion echo creates a trailing, ghosted effect behind moving subjects. Ideal for action shots, sports imagery, GIFs, and dynamic content. The effect adds a sense of motion and energy. Pro tier only.
Color Pop (Pro)
Color pop keeps your subject in full color while desaturating or toning down the background. It's the classic "isolate the subject with color" look popular in portraits and marketing. QuickRemove's color pop effect applies this selectively using the mask, so you get precise control over what stays vivid and what fades.
