Input Formats

QuickRemove accepts the following image formats as input:

• PNG — Lossless, supports transparency. Ideal for graphics and high-quality exports.
• JPG/JPEG — Compressed, widely used. Good for photos; no transparency support.
• WebP — Modern format with good compression and optional transparency.
• BMP — Uncompressed bitmap. Common in some workflows.
• GIF — Supports animated GIFs. Each frame is processed for background removal.
• TIFF — High-quality, often used in professional photography and print.
• HEIC/HEIF — Apple's format. Common for photos from iPhones and iPads.

Output Formats

Output format availability depends on the tier. Free tier exports PNG (up to 1080p). Basic tier supports 4K and all formats (PNG, JPG, WebP, BMP, GIF, TIFF). Pro tier includes unlimited resolution and additional formats such as video and GIF export for motion content.

When to Use Each Format

PNG

Use PNG when you need transparency (e.g., for web, design software, or composites). PNG is lossless, so quality is preserved. Default choice for most background removal exports.

JPG

Use JPG when file size matters and transparency isn't needed. JPG compresses well and is widely supported. Good for social media, email, or when you're replacing the background with a solid color or image anyway.

WebP

WebP offers a balance of compression and quality. Supports transparency. Good for web-optimized assets.

TIFF

TIFF is preferred for print and archival. High bit depth, lossless. Use when you need maximum quality for professional output.

HEIC from iPhone

iPhones and iPads capture photos in HEIC by default. QuickRemove supports HEIC/HEIF natively — transfer your photos to your Windows PC (via cloud sync, cable, or USB) and open them directly. No conversion needed. This is especially useful for photographers or content creators who shoot on iPhone and edit on Windows.

Animated GIF Support

QuickRemove supports animated GIFs as input. Each frame is processed through the AI model for background removal, and the result is exported as an animated GIF with transparent (or replacement) backgrounds. This is available on Pro tier. Animated GIF processing benefits greatly from GPU acceleration — each frame requires AI inference, so batch processing many frames is faster with a compatible GPU.

Format Compatibility

When exporting, consider where your image will be used. Web and design tools typically welcome PNG and WebP. Print workflows often prefer TIFF. Social media and email often accept JPG. QuickRemove lets you choose the right output for your workflow.
